What is an MTR (Material Test Report)?
An MTR is essentially the "birth certificate" of a metal batch. It is a document provided by the steel mill that details the exact chemical and physical properties of the material.
When you receive an MTR from us, it contains critical data, including:
Chemical Composition: The exact percentages of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and alloying elements like chromium or nickel.
Mechanical Properties: The yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation (how much it can stretch before breaking).
Heat Number: The unique identification number assigned to a specific batch of metal during the melting process.
The Role of the Heat Number
